Colter Chapter
Following the unsuccessful ferry heist, Dutch and his crew are forced to abandon Blackwater and attempt to cross the mountains west to avoid government authorities. Not long after taking refuge in the abandoned mining town of Colter, Dutch and Arthur search for either John Marston or Micah Bell, both of whom have gone scouting ahead. Arthur and Dutch find Micah, who tells them of a homestead he discovered that appears to be hosting a celebration. They stop by the homestead to appeal for assistance, where they meet members of the O'Driscoll Boys. After meeting them, a gunfight ensues, resulting in the deaths of the O'Driscolls. After plundering the ranch, they come across Sadie Adler, whose husband was killed by the O'Driscolls. They take pity on her situation and bring her back to camp. Not shortly after his return, Abigail Roberts asks Arthur to find John Marston, who has gone missing. Arthur and Javier Escuella discover John terribly injured and scarred across his face after being attacked by wolves. They return him to camp, where he starts to recuperate.
A few days later, the Dutch prepare an ambush on the O'Driscoll camp, which is located close, according to an O'Driscoll interrogation at the homestead. The gang raids the camp and, after overcoming them, discovers dynamite and information on Leviticus Cornwall's train, which the O'Driscolls planned to plunder. On their journey back to Colter, they stumble across an O'Driscoll whom they had previously seen being chastised by Colm. Arthur volunteers to grab him and succeeds, discovering that his name is Kieran. The gang ties him up in the stables, starving him of information.Due to the quick escape of the Blackwater gang, food and supplies were in short supply. Arthur goes foraging with Charles Smith, during which Charles gives Arthur a bow and tells him that he must use it because of the first's hand injury from a failed ferry robbery. They chat amicably and discuss their history both in and out of the group, while Charles gives Arthur some hunting advice. Arthur manages to bring down two deer and thus he and Charles return to camp with enough food for the gang for the next few days.
To finance their escape from the mountains, the Dutch have to rob the band's train to Cornwall. The detonator the gang planned to use malfunctions, so they have to chase the train. Arthur, Lenny and Javier jump on the train from above, although Javier immediately falls and Lenny also slips but manages to catch the carriage. After Arthur helps him up, the two manage to break through the train and kill most of the guards before the rest of the gang arrives and finishes the few that remain. The gang then use dynamite to break into a private car where they manage to find some very valuable government bonds. The Dutch then leaves Arthur to deal with the last three guards as he wishes, who have all surrendered; their fate is thus left up to the player. After dealing with them, Arthur drives back to Colter's
Horseshoe Overlook Chapter

After fighting some men, Arthur eventually engage huge fat man named Tommy, who overpowers Arthur and throws him out of a bar window into a muddy street. After a bitter struggle, Arthur defeats him and beats him severely, only stopping when Thomas Downes asks him to. After the battle is over, Dutch invites Arthur to his place, where he meets Josiah Trelawny again. He learns that Sean MacGuire is alive, and they will save him. Dutch sends Arthur to follow Trelawny, Charles Smith and Javier Escuella to rescue Sean. Arthur also goes hunting for the "1000 pound bear" with Hosea, who gives Arthur a raven black Shire horse that he can sell or keep in Valentine's stable. They went to Grizzlies East to find the bear. After placing the bait, they wait for the bear to attack them. Hosea thanks Arthur for saving his life and gives him a map of the Legendary Beasts. They can go their separate ways or return to camp together.
Arthur continues to interrogate O'Driscoll, who was captured by the gang in the mountains. Dutch challenges Bill to castrate Kieran with flaming tongs if he does not reveal Colm O'Driscoll's location. Kieran then says that he is in Six Point Cabin and Arthur, John and Bill are there with him. Arriving at the hideout, the trio quietly take out a few O'Driscolls before finally opening fire. Arthur enters the cabin hoping to find Colm, but is instead surprised by O'Driscoll's goon. Before Arthur can be killed, Kieran appears and fatally shoots O'Driscoll, saving Arthur's life.Arthur threatens him after Colm is not there, believing he set them up. Kieran points out that he would not have spared Arthur's life in that case, and at the insistence of John and Bill, Kieran is allowed to stay with the gang. Arthur also gets to go buffalo hunting with Charles at some point during this chapter, and he also gets to rob the Chez Porter homestead with Javier.
At some point Arthur receives a letter from Mary Linton asking Arthur to meet her. After reading the letter, Leopold Strauss tells Arthur that he must collect a debt from the farmer Thomas Downes. Arthur goes to the Downes Ranch and confronts Mr. Downes. Thomas says he is poor and makes Arthur beat him. Finally, Thomas' wife Edith arrives and says that her husband is sick and they are really poor, which leads to Arthur leaving the ranch. Shortly after, Arthur can meet Maria, who informs him that his brother Jamie was inducted into a brotherhood called the Chelonians. When Arthur agrees to help him, he finds Jamie with them near Cumberland Forest. Arthur scares them off and then chases after the fleeing Jamie, eventually catching him and shooting the pistol out of his hand as he tries to kill himself, before returning him to Mary.
After returning from a scout mission, Lenny Summers tells Arthur and Dutch that Micah started a drunken shootout at Strawberry and later killed two O'Driscolls, leading to his arrest. Before meeting Micah, Arthur impossible brings Valentine for a drink to calm Lenny's nerves and they both get drunk. After surviving, Arthur goes to Strawberry to save Micah. The sheriff refuses to release Micah, so Arthur breaks the locks on his cell and a shootout ensues, in which Micah instantly kills his cellmate, O'Driscoll. Arthur tells Micah they have to leave now, but Micah refuses, saying he has something to do. They are forced to kill almost every policeman in town until Micah finally arrives at the house and knocks on the door, killing the man and his wife who live there and taking their prized revolvers. They then escape on their horses and fight off their pursuers, after which Arthur reproaches Micah for his recklessness for returning to unnecessary violence and arms. Micah says he won't go back to Holland until he does something to redeem himself he asks Arthur to meet him somewhere nearby to pull off the heist.
Later, Arthur goes to Micah's place as promised earlier and they start robbing a stagecoach that Micah heard about from his cellmate O'Driscoll. After driving the carts, the O'Driscolls attack them and try to rob them. Eventually, Arthur and Micah manage to fight them on the other side of the river, allowing them to finally claim the money. Later at camp, Abigail asks Arthur to take Jack Marston fishing on the Dakota River. While there, they are contacted by Andrew Milton and Edgar Ross; Agents of the Pinkerton National Bureau of Detectives. Milton reveals that they have captured and killed Mac Callander, and informs Arthur that in exchange for being made a Dutch, he will lose the noose. Arthur angrily refuses and takes Jack back to camp after the agents leave.
John approaches Arthur and tells him that he heard about a train passing through Valentine. He suggests that Arthur steal a stagecoach carrying Cornwall's oil to stop the train. Arthur is able to steal the stagecoach and meet Sean, charles and John. After the procession, when placed in front of the train, it creaks and the band steps into it. Charles deal with engineer, John goes down to the train with a bag of loot, and Arthur encourages those who are not so want to give. He then goes to find Sean who was supposed to deal with the baggage, but he is gone. Arthur later finds him in a fight with a guard, whom Arthur kills. The theft is then undone and the law falls upon them. Four gang members are forced to go on the run and manage to evade the law.
John, thinking that he needs more money, speaks to Arthur and tells him that he hears a herd of sheep coming in. He tells Arthur to buy a sniper rifle and they drive up the hill firing bullets into the farms. . They escape and Arthur auctions off the sheep. The auctioneer identifies the sheep and says that if they pay him 25 percent of the total profit, he will keep his mouth shut. This amount drops to eighteen percent when John negotiates with him. Arthur and John then go to a nearby pub where they meet Strauss and Dutch. During the meeting, Strauss and John were ambushed by Leviticus Cornwall and his hired gun. Dutch and Arthur rescue them before they fight their way out of town and back to camp. Realizing that they cannot stay in the area, Dutch sends Arthur and Charles to investigate Dewberry Creek, a possible campsite that Micah had suggested. Instead, Arthur and Charles find a German mother and her children whose father has disappeared. Charles manages to track his father down to Clemens Point, where they fight the bandits and free him. Arthur returns him to his family, while Charles returns to the others to guide the caravan to Clemens Point, a much better camping spot.
Clemens Point Chapter
After moving to a new campsite, Hosea, Arthur and Dutch go horseback riding. They meet Sheriff Leigh Gray, who has arrested Trelawny for illegal gold mining. When Arthur recaptures the escaped outlaw, Trelawny is freed. Additionally, Gray decides to appoint Dutch Arthur and Bill Williamson so that he can suppress the moonlighting operation of the Lemoyne Raiders. With the help of deputy chief Archibald MacGregor, the three gang members manage to carry out a moonlight operation and win the favor of the sheriff.Dutch tells Arthur to go to Caliga Hall to gather more information about the Gray family. She ends up talking to Beau Gray, who asks her to go to the Braithwaite mansion and deliver a letter to her secret lover, Penelope Braithwaite. After delivering the letter to her, she returns one of her letters to Beau. The letter says that Penelope plans to go to women's suffrage. Beau is alarmed by the news that Penelope will vote for women's suffrage, and tells Arthur that his life is in danger and offers him money if he helps save her. Arthur and Beau ride into a cart where the protesters are riding, and when they don't force him to leave, Arthur is tasked with driving the cart to protect him. At Penelope's request, Arthur takes Beau away to save him from his cousin. Later, Beau pays Arthur before returning to camp.
Dutch is worried about Trelawny's disappearance and sends Arthur and Charles to look for him. They find blood on the floor of the caravan he was in and signs that Trelawny left in a hurry. They follow his tracks to a small camp where they find his belongings. The pair are attacked by two bounty hunters at the camp and promptly defeat them. They interrogate a bounty hunter who reveals that Trelawny is being held in a nearby farmhouse. The two drive there and find some bounty hunters who escort them to the cabin. They attack the bounty hunters and escape to a nearby tobacco field. The two venture out into the field and hunt down the remaining bounty hunters before returning to Trelawny. He claims he didn't tell them anything and they bring him back to camp safely.Later, uncle asks Arthur if he wants to join the robber of the dilesh. Arthur accepts the offer with Charles and Bill. Unfortunately for them, the procession turns out to be that of Cornwall, who has hired a small army of private mercenaries to protect the stage. After robbing a stagecoach, the gang members are forced to flee to a nearby barn where they try to hide. However, the mercenaries find them and set the barn on fire, opening fire on them at the same time. The men are forced to fight their way out of the barn into the woods, where they engage some of Cornwall's men in combat before fleeing back to camp.
Shortly after, Lenny contacts Arthur and tells him that after speaking to the black community in Rhodes, he learned that the Lemoyne Raiders have a large stockpile of military-grade weapons. Arthur agrees to the robbery and he and Lenny drive off to where Lenny's contacts said they were going. The two men see the coach coming and follow it to a safe distance before meeting Shady Belle. The two attack the mansion, and after eliminating Lemoyne, the raiders from there take the coach and drive it away. Some other attackers try to rob them, but they defeat them. Back at camp, Arthur claims the Bolt Action Rifle as his and says he will sell the rest to get more money for the camp. Arthur is also known to participate in various heists with other gang members, such as a homestead robbery with Sean, a stagecoach robbery with Sean and Mary-Beth, and another heist with Bill and Tilly. Also, at one point he comes to go fishing with Kieran and then with Javier.Almost immediately after returning, Bill and Karen Jones approach Lenny and Arthur and suggest that they rob Valentine's bank, which they have already gathered information about. After some prodding, he agrees and the four of them drive to Valentin. Karen pretends to be either a missing girl or a whore, and is thrown out by a confused guard. Arthur can then either put dynamite in the safes to blow the locks, or quietly break them. Along the way, they are attacked by the law, but the four gang members manage to fight their way out safely. Later, Arthur travels to the Downes ranch to collect money owed to his wife, Edith Downes.
At some point, the gang hears that the O'Driscolls have planned a truce meeting between Dutch and Colm. Although Hosea immediately sees it as a trap, Dutch agrees to check it out after some persuasion from Micah. Arthur, also suspicious, follows them. He is sent as a sniper to a cliff overlooking the rendezvous, but is captured by the O'Driscolls and later captured in their hideout and shot in the shoulder. Colm reveals himself to Arthur and says that they captured Arthur to trick the Dutch into giving him to the Pinkertons. After Colm leaves, Arthur cauterizes his wounds and escapes back to camp, where he takes a few weeks to recover. The gang then decide to rob both Braithwaite and the Grays to get money for their shops. Arthur first goes with Sean, and they set fire to Gray's tobacco fields by moonlight, in exchange for Braithwaite's considerable sum of money. He then leaves with John and Javier and they go to Braithwaite Manor and steal the family's prized horses. Although they are told by Tavish Gray that they can sell the horses to a stable for five grand in cash, this turns out to be a lie and they end up losing seven hundred. The Grays then tell the gang to meet in Rhodes for a possible job. Bill, Micah and Sean go to Rhodes, soon followed by Arthur, but it turns out to be an ambush. Sean is shot and killed almost immediately, and Bill is captured by the sheriff. Micah and Arthur clear the street before confronting Sheriff Gray and his deputies. Sheriff Gray leaves his office taking Bill hostage, but Arthur immediately shoots him before Arthur and Micah can shoot the deputies. Later, Arthur expresses affection for Sean and asks Bill to give him a proper burial.
Arriving in camp, Arthur learns that the Braithwaites have taken Jack as revenge for stealing their horse. A large group of gang members attack the Braithwaite mansion and take Catherine Braithwaite prisoner after a long struggle. When he refuses to reveal Jack's location, they burn down his mansion. He then reveals that his sons gave him to Angelo Bronte, an Italian crime lord living in Saint Denis, before the gang crashed into his burning home when they left him. Back at the camp, agents Milton and Ross appear and suggest that dutch turn himself in exchange for the rest of the gang being allowed to escape and receive amnesty. The offer is rejected and Milton leaves, promising to return with fifty men. Afterwards, the gang quickly prepares to move into the Shady Belle, which Lenny and Arthur had earlier cleared out of the Lemoyne Raider. John and Arthur go to investigate and kill the rest of the raiders. Once that is done, the gang moves into their new home.
Saint Denis Chapter
After moving out of Shady Belle, John, Dutch and Arthur go to St. Denis to find out where Bronte lives. Later, Arthur learns that he lives in a mansion near the river after chasing a pickpocket that was stolen from him, and the trio begins to meet him. The three gang members arrive at the house and, after almost falling with their men, they make a deal: John and Arthur will deal with a group of grave robbers, and in return, Bronte will give Jack back. Two men go to a cemetery and are shot dead after being ambushed by criminals. They then grab their prey and flee before the law shows up. They return to Bronte with the loot, and Bronte frees Jack after offering the Dutch an invitation to the mayor's party.Bill, Hosea, Arthur and Dutch arrive at the mayor's party and quickly split up to look for different leads. Arthur overhears a servant talking about Leviticus Cornwall and follows him at Dutch's insistence. Arthur steals the documents on him before escaping the mansion and meeting with the rest of the gang. When Bill complains that they haven't found any leads, Hosea says he has a few, including a possible riverboat heist involving a high-stakes poker game and even the Lemoyne National Bank.
After hearing about the tip of the riverboat, Trelawny decides to exploit it. He pulls strings and manages to get Javier, Strauss, Arthur and himself on board and befriend the businessman to set up a poker game. Once on board, Javier manages to pose as a riverboat guard and Strauss finds a spot in Arthur's line of sight. Arthur then plays a poker game on a boat with Desmond Blythe and some others, and with the help of Strauss's trickery, Arthur wins. After losing all her money to Arthur, Blythe makes one last bet, using her Reutlinger pocket watch as credit. Arthur accepts Blythe's offer and beats him. The pit boss arrives and congratulates Arthur on his victory before escorting both he and Javier down the stairs to the vault where Reutlinger is. As he opens the vault, Javier and Arthur point their guns at him and order him to hand over his hidden pistol. As Arthur loots the vault, the pitmaster pulls out another hidden weapon, forcing Arthur to shoot him. Unfortunately, the sound of a gunshot alerts the guards, who rush to see what happened. Arthur and Javier reunite with Strauss and Trelawny, but the guards realize they are guilty and attack them. After fighting some guards, the group jumps off the ship and swims to shore, where they share the loot.
Later, Arthur goes to speak with an Indian chief named Rains Fall. He finds him in Saint Denis with his son Eagle Flies. Rains Fall informs Arthur that the American army will take his tribe from their land and he has an offer for him. He asks Arthur to steal incriminating documents from the Cornwall refinery that could stop their delivery. Arthur accepts and later sneaks into the refinery in a cart meant for the livestock yard. After forcing the man to give his the articles, he runs away. When a group of guards threatened him with a gun, Eagle Flies causes an explosion that distracts them and allows Arthur to quickly shoot them. They escape together, after which Eagle Flies pays Arthur and says he hopes the documents will help.At the camp, Susan tells Arthur that Tilly has been kidnapped by the Foreman brothers and they have to rescue her. They crash into the safe house and rescue Tilly before they go looking for manager Anthony Foreman. Once captured, he is brought back to Tilly, where the player can choose to kill or spare him. Susan prefers the former and Tilly prefers the latter. Whichever option is chosen, Tilly will never be bothered by the Foreman brothers again.
Sadie asks Arthur to talk and tells him that Kieran is missing and she is worried about him. Almost as soon as he finishes speaking, the dismembered body of Kieran arrives at the camp and the O'Driscolls attack the gang. The group tries to get them off the road, but they are forced to retreat to the plantation house. Then Dutch realizes that Sadie is fighting for her life. Arthur charges and kills people attacking Sadie, but she refuses to go in, wanting revenge on her husband. They make an enemy gang and force the O'Driscolls to retreat. At some point in this chapter, Arthur might team up with Micah to rob a stagecoach and take Bill with him. On top of that, he is also able to kidnap the coach with Lenny, although it turns out to be a set-up. In addition, Arthur can also go rustling with his uncle.
Dutch tells Arthur to come and tells him that the two of them, along with Lenny, will rob the Saint Denis station after receiving a tip from Angelo Bronte. The trio burst into the station and hold the clerks at gunpoint before realizing that there are only ninety dollars in the vault. The three then try to escape, but the police are now everywhere. They get into a train and drive it out of the city center. The carriage ends up overturning, forcing the three to fight the police on foot. Finally, they commandeer the stagecoach and drive to safety. Dutch then comments how he thinks Lenny saved them, and Arthur gives them fifteen dollars each.Later, Maria contacts Arthur and asks him to meet her in Saint Denis. Arthur does so and Mary tells Arthur that she is very worried about her father, who is sinking deeper and deeper into fornication, drinking and gambling. Mary finally meets her father, who storms out shortly after speaking to her. To find out what he is doing, Maria and Arthur pick him up and see him vomiting, then meet Ashton, to whom Mr. Gillis sells the brooch. Recognizing it as her mother's family heirloom, Mary confronts it as Arthur chases Ashton to retrieve the brooch. After receiving the brooch, Arthur gives it to Mary and asks where her father went, to which Mary replies that she doesn't know and doesn't care anymore. He then invites Arthur to the theater with him, where the player can choose whether he wants to go or not. Later, Mary asks Arthur to run away with her, but Arthur refuses, saying that he is a needed man who would only threaten her and that he has people to take care of. Realizing that Arthur will never give up the life of an outlaw, Mary says goodbye and the two part ways.
Back at camp, Dutch asks Arthur to go out on the balcony and he tells her that he and Hosea can't agree on what to do next and that he's the wrecker. Dutch says he wants to kill Angelo Bronte for cheating them and says it will make the bank robbery easier. However, Hosea says that the plan is stupid and will put them in danger. Arthur helps Dutch and they go to Lagra where they plan to make a deal with a fisherman named Thomas. Dutch talks to him and they agree to help him find the missing assistant. In return, he transports the gang to the Bronte mansion. Three men find him in the swamp, bring him to the boat and row him back to Lagra. Unfortunately, they are attacked by an enormous alligator on the way. He bites the young man's leg and throws him into the water. They drag him outside, then shoot the giant alligator, scaring it off, before returning to Lagra. When Arthur returns to Lagrasse, the gang board Thomas's boat and go to Angelo Bronte's mansion. Upon arrival, the gang is shot at and he takes cover and opens fire on the guards stationed in the courtyard. The force arrives, but the gang secures the area and approaches the door. Arthur blows the lock of the door and the gang begins to clean the rooms. Arthur heads up the stairs and enters the room, only to be suddenly attacked by a crime lord. After signing off Bronte, Arthur carries her down and they head for the boat. Unfortunately, the police hear gunfire and arrive, forcing the gang to fight their way onto the boat. Once on the boat, they set off for Lagra, intending to get Bronte back. Bronte, on the other hand, believes that the gang is turning against the Dutch for money. He offers thousands of dollars to anyone who kills the Dutchman, and if no one takes him up on it, he starts insulting the Dutchmen. Enraged, Dutch responds by drowning Bronte and then throwing her body overboard to destroy the alligators, shocking the rest of the gang.
Guarma Chapter
Arthur lands on Guarma and searches for civilization. He meets the gang near the campfire, but the reunion is interrupted by the arrival of the local army, who arrest them and take them to prison in chains. On the way to the prison, the rebels bombard the soldiers with bullets. Confused, Arthur collects the keys from the dead soldier's body and uses them to unlock the chains. After killing the guards leading them, revolutionary leader Hercule Fontaine orders the gang to follow him. As they run away, Javier is shot in the leg and they are forced to leave without him. Regardless, Hercules leads the remaining gang into a small rebel outpost with rifles. Reinforcements soon arrive, but the gang and Hercules win in the end. They then go to a rebel-turned-church called La Capilla.Arriving at La Capilla, Arturo rests a bit before leaving to find a way out of the island. One of the two things she does to get off the island is to go with Dutch to save Javier. They go to a cave where there is an old lady named Gloria. The Dutchman pays him a gold bar to lead them through the cave to the ladder that will take them up to Aguasdulces. Then he demands more money, and if the Dutchman cannot pay the rest of the promised money, he pulls a knife on himself. Dutch then captures him and kills him, much to Arthur's horror. They then enter Aguadulce where they see Colonel Fussar and a group of soldiers dragging Javier forward on a donkey and beating him for information about the gang. The pair quickly begin looking for ways to find the instigator they find in a sugar refinery. The Dutch cut up the bags of sugar and pour it on the floor before they blow up the oven. Confused, they fight their way to Javier. When the Dutch collect him, they flee from the settlement until they reach the Arroyo of the Vibora River. Joella Arthur tells Dutch to take Javier while he stays at the bank. Waves of enemies attack his position, but Arthur wins and leaves.
Arthur then goes to investigate a group of missing workers. Unfortunately, Arthur is captured and imprisoned along with two other fighters. A guard approaches him and starts punching him in an attack. Arthur quickly kills the guard and then sneaks out of the camp through another fighter. They save three men from execution before beating and overwhelming the soldiers. After that, he goes to Cinco Torres with the gang. Here they see a Cuban warship approaching and attacking enemy swarms. The gang and Hercules shoot at them from above until they reach the fort. Hercule, Dutch and Arthur then rush outside and take out the soldiers preparing to take the fort. They then rush back to the top of Cinco Torres and use the cannon as the warship approaches. After several shots, the warship goes down and they begin to plan their escape from the island.
The group prepares to leave when they see a battery blocking their escape. Realizing that it must be silenced, the mob attacks the batteries and Arthur detonates the cannons. Then they began to cut a way for the ship. While fighting the Aguasdulces, Arthur breaks into the worker's cabin looking for the captain and is held at gunpoint by Levi Simon. Dutch breaks and puts Simon at gunpoint before Fussar points his gun at Dutch. The confrontation ends when Arthur kicks the captain of the ship with his rifle and he kills Simon by shooting him in the chest. Fussar avoids the cabin in confusion and runs. They then begin to fight the ship in earnest when they discover that Fussar has manned the last turret with a machine gun. Arthur blows up the tower, killing Fussar and allowing the gang to finally leave the island.Arthur arrives at Van Horn's trading post where he steals a horse to return to Shady Belle. The site is abandoned when he gets there, but he finds a note written by "Caroline" saying they are in Lakay. As he prepares to leave, a group of Pinkertons arrive; Arthur either leaves quietly and without warning or fights them. Despite his choice, he goes to Lakay right after. When he arrives, he finds that the whole gang is not stuck in Guarma. They greet him and Abigail informs Arthur about Juan's imprisonment in Sisika Prison before the rest of the gang arrives. However, their reunion is interrupted by Agent Milton and a group of Pinkerton agents who attack the camp. With the help of Sadie and Bill, they repel an attack with a Gatling gun. Sadie asks Arthur to meet her at Saint Denis at some point so they can discuss the best way to get John out of prison.
Dutch tells Arthur to clear an old hideout called Beaver Hollow, home to a group of cannibals called the Murfree Brood, Arthur takes Charles with him, and Arthur tells charles about Guarma when he tells Arthur about the battle to escape to Lakay. Later they reach Beaver Hollow either by canoe or horse. The pair sneak through the camp, silently killing enemies until the alarm goes off. They then attack the hollow hard and clear all the enemies. While doing so, they find a young girl named Meredith who has been imprisoned and tortured. Arthur takes him back to his mother in Annesburg before returning to the Hollow where the rest of the gang has gathered. Then a drunken Molly stumbles into the camp and says she's the rat who told the Pinkertons about the Saint Denis Bank robbery. The rest of the party looks shocked, but Susan stops him by holding him at gunpoint.
Beaver Hollow Chapter
Arthur goes to Saint Denis to see Sadie, but has a violent coughing fit and collapses. A stranger takes him to a clinic, and a doctor named Joseph R. Barnes diagnoses Arthur with tuberculosis, having contracted it from Thomas Downes several months earlier. Arthur is overcome with emotion at this news, for such an illness would mean certain death. This news shakes Arthur to the core and ultimately causes him to change and become a better man.Arthur meets Sadie after the diagnosis. He says he wants to explore the prison to make sure John is really there before the rescue attempt, and has paid hot air balloon operator Arthur Bullard to give Arthur a tour. Arthur then checks Sisika's detention center with a balloon to see if John is still there. He notices John's field detail and the guard opens fire, forcing them to leave. When they reach the mainland, Arthur spots a group of O'Driscolls chasing Sadie and opens fire on them from a balloon. Bullard is shot by a rival gang and the balloon crashes. Arthur and Sadie then engage the attackers in a bloody battle, which they win.
Arthur then goes to Copperhead Landing, a few miles from Sisika's prison, to help Sadie break John out of prison. Abigail protests that she should come, but Sadie and Arthur shut her down, saying she would be an extra burden. Abigail reluctantly agrees and thanks them for their work before Arthur and Sadie sail along the coast of the island and dock. The pair climb a turret overlooking the fields and crush a guard in the tower before opening fire and killing two more guards in the fields. They capture a prison guard named Milliken, and Milliken tells them that John is not working that day. With Milliken hostage, they walk to the main gate of the fort and tell them that they want to replace John as guard. They make a deal and flee the island with the enemy guards in pursuit.Dutch and Micah recruit Arthur to help them face Cornwall in Annesburg. They hide in the harbor where Cornwall is expected to arrive. Dutch waits with Arthur while Micah is sent to follow one of Cornwall's assistants. After hearing Cornwall speak to the Pinkertons, Dutch reveals himself. He demands that Cornwall give him $10,000, his boat and safe passage overland. Cornwall refuses and Dutch shoots him in the chest, killing him. The Pinkertons and hired guns invade the gang and the three men fight their way out of town. During the operation, Micah manages to steal articles from Cornwall's company, which he and Dutch keep as planned.
Finally, Arthur goes to Saint Denis with Sadie and Dutch to make sure Colm is hanged. Arthur and Dutch disguise themselves as police officers, and Sadie disguises herself as a high society woman, reducing her chances of being recognized. They find two O'Driscolls in the crowd and notice that there is a sniper on top of the building. Arthur eliminates the gun, Dutch and Sadie capture the O'Driscolls, and with no one left to save him from the noose, Colm is hanged. Sadie then kills both her hostages and Holland in a rage, leading to a shootout. After dealing with the O'Driscolls, Dutch and Sadie return to Beaver Hollow, followed by Arthur.Arthur receives a letter from Mary saying that she wants to break up with him because that way she can move on, but expresses regret that they could never be together. In addition to sending Arthur a letter, she returns him a wedding ring. Mary, on the other hand, did not know that Arthur was terminally ill with tuberculosis and that he would soon die.The papers Micah stole reveal a large shipment of dynamite being transported from Annesburg to Saint Denis, so Bill and Arthur are sent to intercept it and deliver it to the gang. They go to the Van Horn Trading Post and set up an ambush: Bill plays drunk in the middle of the road and Arthur positions himself at a distance to act as a sniper. When the train stops, they open fire on the guards and capture the carriage. They are chased by waves of mercenaries, but the pair manage to fend them off and run for their lives. When they come to safety, Micah tells John to take the dynamite to Bacchus Bridge, then asks Arthur to join him later to set up the dynamite.
Strauss also gives Arthur the following two debtors: a deserter from Fort Wallace named J. John Weathers and a miner named Arthur Londonderry. Arthur first goes after Weathers, who offers a wagonload of supplies to pay off his debt, but is attacked by soldiers impersonating him. Arthur is forced to help Weathers protect the wagon, but the wagon catches fire and is destroyed. After killing the soldiers, Arthur sees Weathers leading a Wapiti Indian with whom he is in a relationship and sees their plight. Confused by Arthur's actions, Strauss protests, but Arthur ignores his attempts at reconciliation. He throws the money at Strauss's feet and tells him to leave, which Strauss does.
Arthur meets John at the Bacchus Bridge and they blow it up to cut off government supplies. This attempt almost costs them their lives as they are almost hit by a train. Later, John tells Arthur that he fears for his family because Dutch has gone mad. Arthur tells John he agrees, and John tells him that Abigail thinks she knows where the money is. Arthur tells him to look in it and talk to him later.

He asks Charles and Arthur to follow him, worried that Dutch will take advantage of Dutch's recent change in behavior, and the four men travel east, where they plan to steal horses from a government ferry. The four of them swim to the boat, sneak aboard and knock the guards out. Then they grab their horses and run back to the shore. After reaching the beach, Eagle Flies and Dutch lead the horses back to the reservation while Arthur goes to see Rains Fall.
Arthur arrives at the reservation and meets Rains Fall. When the Indian chief realizes that Arthur has tuberculosis, he tells him that he has some things that might help the pain, and they go into the mountains to find herbs. While traveling, a man named Captain Monroe asks for his help and Arthur agrees to help him. After gathering all the herbs, they go to Wapiti's sacred place, only to find it burned down and its sacred objects gone. Realizing that it was the army that did it, Arthur sneaks into the camp, steals the items back and gives them to Rains Fall, who thanks him. They then return to camp and separate.
Arthur goes and meets Monroe, who shows him a small child who contracted smallpox because Colonel Favors is preventing a vaccine shipment from reaching the reservation. Disgusted by this, Arthur demands that Monroe show him where the shipment is going. He then follows the cart carrying the vaccines and steals them back. He then returns to the reservation with the supplies and gives them to Monroe. On Dutch's orders, Arthur meets him and a group of Indians led by Paytah and Eagle-Flies. The Dutch tells him that they will capture the soldiers in the canyon for tar and seal them. However, Arthur sees that the Dutchman is just exploiting them and not helping them. He tries to talk Dutch out of their involvement, but is disappointed when Dutch dismisses his concerns. Reluctantly, Arthur set to work, he and Dutch place dynamite near the trees and wait for the soldiers to arrive. As he does so, Dutch pushes the lighter and trees fall, blocking the way.
The group demands that the soldiers surrender, but army reinforcements arrive and swarm possible ambushes. Arthur, the Dutch, and the Indians fight their way down the passes, but most of the Indians are killed or captured, forcing Arthur and the Dutch to flee. They escape to the top of a cliff and jump into the waters below, surrounded by an army.
After capturing the Eagle Flies, a meeting is arranged between Colonel Favors and Rains Fall. Rains Fall asks Arthur and Charles to come forward and Arthur agrees to Charles' request. Arthur has a cough during the meeting and has to take a break in the tent. In the tent, he hears that Favors is planning to execute Monroe and alerts himself. After the meeting ends, Favors arrests Monroe and announces his plans to execute her. Charles and Arthur attack, capture him and escape. They hide behind a rock and defeat the army in a long battle before taking Captain to the emerald station.
Charles and Arthur learn that Eagle-Flies is being held at Fort Wallace and decide to expel him. They cross the river and ride up to the fort where they await the evening. They then quietly kill several guards with bows before scaling the back wall with a rope. They then kill several guards on the walls before attacking the army and fighting their way into the prison. Having freed the eagle flies, they blow a hole in the back wall and run to the canoes lying by the river. Although the soldiers try to shoot them out of the canoes, they manage to escape the area and Charles brings the eagle flies back to his father.
Eagle Flies appears in Beaver Hollow with a large group of soldiers from the reservation and informs the band that the military has attacked the reservation. He then recruits a gang to help destroy the Cornwall refinery in revenge. Then Rains Fall rides in and begs his tribe not to go to war. Instead, they drive off, leaving the gang behind. After a quick chat, most of the group follows. When they arrive, they find that many of the Wapiti Indians have been killed. Arthur soon spots the Eagle Flies and the gang splits into two groups - Arthur leading the pack to rescue the Eagle Flies. They manage to rescue the Eagle Flies and then meet the Dutch near the warehouse. After fighting at door, Dutch and Arthur enter and take the treasury bonds. But as they leave, the pipe cracks, incapacitating Arthur. Immediately after, more soldiers arrive as Dutch leaves Arthur to die. Just before the soldiers can kill him, Eagle Flies appears and kills the soldiers in quick succession, only to be fatally shot in the stomach by Colonel Favors himself. Favors then approaches Arthur to kill him, but Arthur manages to shoot and kill him first. He then leaves the warehouse, and after a brief conversation with Dutch about the last resignation, Arthur takes Eagle Flies with Charles and Paytah back to the reservation. When they reach the reservation, Eagle Flies succumbs to his wounds while Arthur says goodbye to Charles, who stays with the Indians to help them escape from the army. Shortly after leaving the reservation, Arthur suffers another severe coughing fit and falls unconscious. Fortunately for him, the German family he helped that year found him and took him to Annesburg, where Arthur regains consciousness.
Dutch informs the gang that they will pull off one more theft before they leave the country. He tells them that they plan to rob a military train passing through Saint Denis containing payers and supplies to repair the Bacchus Bridge. They go to Saint Denis, but the train goes straight through the city, so they have to follow it. After boarding the train, the band is attacked by enemies, and although Arthur fights them back, John is shot in the left shoulder after dismantling the burning wagon. Dutch says he will save him and go after him while the rest of the gang take the last of the soldiers guarding the train and take the loot. Dutch then appears and tells him that John was dead, leaving Arthur sad.On the way back, they meet Tilly, who says that Abigail has been captured. Dutch and Micah decide to leave him behind. Refusing to leave their old friend dead and orphaned Jack, Arthur and Sadie go to Van Horn, where he is being held captive. Arthur covers Sadie from the lighthouse as she fights her way through town, but when they reach the building where Abigail is being held captive, they are ambushed and captured by two Pinkertons. Arthur then fights his way through the city to rescue her, killing the guards he ambushed, only to be threatened with a gun by Agent Milton. Milton tells him that Micah betrayed the gang and gave information to the Pinkertons after returning from Guarma before being locked in a fight with Arthur. Suddenly, Abigail shoots Milton in the temple with Sadie's revolver, killing him and saving Arthur. Arthur takes Abigail back to Tilly and Jack and tells them to leave with Sadie so he can face Micah. Before leaving, Abigail gives Arthur the keys Dutch vault and tells him where to find the money before saying goodbye.
Arthur enters the camp and announces that Micah is a traitor, causing Micah and Arthur to become drawn to each other. At first, no one wants to take sides until John stumbles into the camp, saying that the Dutch have left him for dead. Susan also helps Arthur and threatens Micah with a shotgun. Unfortunately, Javier announces that the Pinkertons are coming, distracting him and allowing Micah to kill her. The rest of the gang joins behind Dutch and Micah, but the Pinkertons arrive before the others can kill Arthur and John. Arthur and John escape through a cave where Arthur reveals to him that Micah is a rat. After reaching the surface, Arthur tells John that his family is safe at Copperhead Landing and tells him to make a good life for himself and his family with another chance before they are forced to flee into the woods with Dutch and the others. in the tail, exclaiming that John and Arthur are traitors. Finally, Arthur and John are shot from under their horses, forcing them to walk after killing Pinkerton's attackers. Arthur is then faced with a difficult choice: he can either return for the money or help John escape.
When Arthur helps John escape
Arthur continues with John and they head for the mountains. Finally, Arthur tells John to go on alone while he keeps the Pinkertons at bay, before giving him his hat and belongings. John reluctantly breaks up with Arthur when Micah attacks the latter; both men fall from the ledge to the ground and engage in a fist fight afterwards. After a long struggle in which both men suffer numerous physical injuries, Arthur is able to use one of his revolvers to pistol-whip Micah in the face while he is pinned against a wall, but loses his grip on it. Arthur then crawls towards that revolver to kill Micah, but Dutch later stops him from doing so. Arthur tells Dutch again that Micah is a rat, that he gave him everything, and that John is the only one who could handle it, while Micah picks up another revolver from the ground and tells Dutch to come with him to get the money. In the end, Dutch leaves unsatisfied, leaving both Arthur and Micah.
High Honor
After leaving dutch, Micah angrily storms out of the area, leaving Arthur to die. Arthur then crawls to the edge of a cliff and sees one last sunrise as he dies, succumbing to tuberculosis, injuries and exhaustion.
Low honor
Instead of running away after Dutch, Micah approaches Arthur and points a revolver at his head, vengefully claiming that Arthur is no better than him. Micah then shoots Arthur in the forehead, killing him instantly, before laughing, spitting on his body and walking away.
When Arthur Comes Back for the Money
Arthur gives John his hat and belongings and leaves John to escape on his own before fighting his way back to the gang's camp, where he manages to find a wallet in Dutchman's coffin cave. Leaving the caves, Micah attacks her and is stabbed in the side with his own knife. After breaking free from him and taking the knife, Micah draws his own blade and they engage in a knife fight.
High Honor
Arthur finally manages to cut out Micah's left eye and blind him. Enraged, Micah knocks Arthur to the ground and tries to stab him, but to no avail as Arthur bites Micah's hand and punches him in the face, forcing him away. Dutch arrives to destroy it, but after Arthur repeats that Micah betrayed the gang, Dutch decides to abandon them both, although Micah dismisses the claim as "nonsense". Micah then leaves and takes the wallet that Arthur took from the coffin. Arthur is left to die, watching the sunrise just before dying of tuberculosis, his first stab wound, and exhaustion.
Low Honor
Instead of cutting Micah's left eye during the fight, Arthur loses his balance and falls down. Micah manages to stab Arthur in the chest during the fight before Dutch arrives to break it up. Arthur again says that Micah is a rat and demands that the Dutch kill him, but the Dutch leave. Arthur then starts to crawl away, but Micah approaches him with a knife in hand and ends up stabbing Arthur in the back.

High honor Arthur grave |
Personality
Arthur Morgan is a cold, brooding outlaw who often uses violence and has very little qualms about killing. At his worst, Arthur could be extremely ruthless and completely unsympathetic to the people he hurt. Despite being capable of such violence, Arthur has a playful side to his personality that comes out around those he befriends. He is not above joking or being sarcastic with his friends. In particular, Arthur was polite and kind to John Marston's then four-year-old son Jack, in contrast to his menacing personality, gentleness around the young boy.
Despite his ability to commit great acts of violence, Arthur has his own moral code and does not believe in unnecessary killing, especially when it endangers himself or those he cares about. Dutch also made Arthur believe that revenge was a futile endeavour. Arthur seems firmly convinced that violence should be cold, necessary and vile, never for personal pleasure or reason.
Arthur cannot be bought, bullied or intimidated, regardless of the opponent's size, strength, wealth or power. He is fully aware of his imposing nature and the effect his own force of intimidation can have on others. Although Arthur proves time and time again that he is not afraid of anyone, he fears for the safety of those he loves. Fully confident in his ability to handle any situation or defeat an opponent, Arthur rarely shows any hesitation and even joins the fight as an extra. Despite Arthur's usual bravery and calm demeanor, he shows a rare moment of fear when he confides in Sister Calderón and reveals to her that he fears his own death from his kill button. In his own words, Arthur is aware that he is a "bad guy" and clearly understands that his behavior is morally wrong, although he justifies his actions as different from other criminals because the Van der Linde gang carries a philosophy. that Arthur really believed it could help people. Over time, however, Arthur came to realize that this philosophy was a delusion, or "the cause," as John Marston later put it.
Artur's declining faith in dutch caused him to have an existential crisis. Because Dutch raised Arthur from a young age, his philosophy was primarily the only thing Arthur believed in until the gang fell. When the band disbands, Arthur realizes that social issues are more complex than he ever thought and that these issues are beyond the band's control. Perhaps most troubling for Arthur was seeing how easily the Dutch could influence younger, outcast men like Eagle-Flies to commit violent acts in his name. No doubt it gave Arthur a new perspective on his own childhood and how the Dutch took advantage of him. When his faith in dutch and the Van der Linde gang was shattered and he learned that he was terminally ill with tuberculosis, Arthur came to terms with his feelings and opened up to Rains Fall about traumatic experiences such as someone's death. a child his own son. , Isaac. He also shared how his final diagnosis made him see the world "more clearly", telling Mary-Beth that the world looks "better, almost". After all, one of Arthur's last goals was to protect John Marston's family and secure them a stash of Dutch money so they could hopefully build a better life for themselves, where all the suffering the gang went through would finally be worth something. . Despite Arthur's honor, the band's decline, dutch descent into madness, and his own impending destruction, Arthur tried to secure a future for the people he cared about; a future he can never see but can guarantee.
In terms of his general attitude, he is stoic and humble, never feeling the need to prove himself to the other gang members. Artur has been called "idiot" and "stupid" by others in many ways and for various reasons, but he often brushes off the criticism. The only criticism that seems to affect Arthur comes from his former lover, Mary Linton. Although Arthur often attributed his complicated and conflicted feelings to his past with her, he quietly wondered what his life might have been like if he and Mary had stayed together.Arthur is cunning and quite intelligent, and he shows more self-awareness than almost everyone else in the gang, which allows him to keep a cool demeanor, especially under pressure, without having to defend himself.Unlike most people of this period, Arthur is quite progressive towards women and minorities. he abhors racism and has no regard for women doing traditionally male tasks. Regarding his religious beliefs, Arthur mentions that he is a non-believer, but he seems to believe in some kind of afterlife.
Arthur's honor can influence his total personality as a whole; with high honor, Arthur can be seen as a devoted person who thinks about other and more practical situations, such as when he realized that the gang was fighting for an idea that no longer worked, and how he realized that the women and Jack were certain. to die if he didn't help them leave the gang.
With low honor, Arthur can be seen as a selfish person who only thinks about himself, for example he only cares about his own survival, he even prefers getting revenge on Micah and getting the gang's money over helping John and his family.
Appearance
As in the old photograph in Arthur's carriage, Arthur was seen before 1899 as a young man wearing a brown waistcoat and trousers, with a scarf around his neck.As of 1899, Arthur is about 36 years old, with a muscular build for his position, a thick head, light brown hair and blue eyes. He also has a scar near his chin that leaves a visible bald spot in his beard at levels 2 and 3.Artur's appearance can be affected by the player. The player can choose his hairstyle, clothes and cleanliness.Players must also take care of Arthur, which in turn affects his weight. A healthy Arthur maintains a nimble appearance. Overfeeding him causes him to gain weight, giving him more health but limiting his stamina, while not feeding him dilutes Artur, which negatively affects his health but increases his stamina.
During at Guarma, Arthur's face turns red and burns, his hair and beard gradually grow long because his hair cannot be shaved or cut. Arthur is also underweight from lack of food and has only one item of clothing, the remains of the suit he wore during the Saint Denis bank robbery. After Guarma's return, Arthur health deteriorates as tuberculosis progresses. He looks sicker and sicker, and his face grows pale, and his eyes become watery and red at the corners; he also develops eye bags as a result of constant coughing. Arthur also loses his muscular appearance and loses a lot of weight. As the disease worsens, Arthur becomes underweight and has no chance of regaining a healthy weight.
Skill
Considered by allies and enemies alike to be the most dangerous member of the Van der Linde gang, Arthur is recognized and feared as the gang's main enforcer. Before 1899, his reputation is such that gang members and enemies alike regularly comment on his skills
and status within the gang. He is the target of several ambushes, bombings, captures or bribery attempts, and Pinkerton and rival gang leaders hope to eliminate him or turn him against dutch and the gang. His skill, versatility and ferocity combined with natural strength and durability prove that he is an unparalleled fighter. From antiques like the Vulcan Pistol to modern Mauser pistols, his ability to use multiple weapons and fighting styles makes Arthur invaluable. Arthur is considered one of the best guns in the band, if not the best, competing if not surpassing Micah. Plus, he's the best melee of the bunch along with Carlos. One of the most prominent displays of Arthur's physical dominance occurs during the infamous bar fight with Valentine. Here, he saves Bill and Javier in a matter of minutes, knocks out three opponents in a row, and single-handedly defeats the hulking Tommy (who is said to be the toughest resident in town), nearly beating him to death despite his defense That incident alone gives Arthur a lasting fearsome reputation in the town.
Arthur knows how to survive in the wilderness. Although he claims he never learned archery during his conversation with Charles, he picks up the skill fairly quickly. Riding with the gang taught him how to live on the fringes of society. Arthur can track, hunt and skin animals with the skills of an experienced outdoorsman. Unlike John, he is also a skilled shepherd who can easily gather and manage multiple animals such as a flock of sheep. Arthur can also swim and is a master horseman.
